Eagle Coins Gold & Silver Buying is a family-run shop in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, operated by Lexaco LLC. People trust us with valuables that often carry a story, so we take the same care with their information.
This policy covers two groups: anyone who visits this website and anyone who contacts us or sells to us. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do not collect. The short version is: we collect very little, we keep it to ourselves, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
Our contact and quote forms ask for your name, email address, phone number, and a short message about what you would like to sell. Those four fields are all we require.
If you call us, write to us, or book an appointment online, we hold whatever you choose to share in that conversation. You are never obliged to give us more than you are comfortable with.
Information From a Sale
If you sell something to us in the shop, we ask to see a valid driver’s license. We record what we need to maintain a proper purchase record, including your name and the details of the transaction. This is a normal requirement for a licensed buyer of precious metals in Massachusetts, and it protects honest sellers.
We keep a register of payments made. We do not photograph your items, and we do not conduct remote or mail-in evaluations, so there is no image file of your property stored on a server.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical details when you visit: IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages viewed, and how you arrived. This is aggregate traffic information used to understand what people find useful. It is not tied to your name.
How We Use Your Information
We use what we collect to:
- Reply to your inquiry and answer questions about your items
- Confirm an appointment if you book one
- Prepare for your visit so the evaluation goes smoothly
- Keep the purchase records that the law requires of us
- Understand which pages people read and fix what is not working
- Protect against fraud, spam, and misuse of our forms
That is the whole list. We do not build profiles, run email campaigns, or pass your details to other businesses looking for customers.
Cookies and Tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for pages to load and forms to work. Others are set by the tools we use, including Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit and which pages they read, and Google Ads, which measures whether our advertising is working.
Some cookies come from content embedded in our pages rather than from us directly. Our contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam; we embed a Google Map so you can find the shop; we embed a video from YouTube; and we display our Google reviews through a review widget. Those services set their own cookies when the content loads.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though a few embedded features may not display properly.
Third-Party Services We Rely On
We are a small shop, and we use standard tools to run the website:
- Google Analytics for visitor statistics
- Google Ads to measure advertising performance
- Google Maps for directions to the shop
- Google reCAPTCHA to keep spam out of our forms
- YouTube for embedded video
- Setmore, if you book an appointment online
- Cloudflare for site security and performance
- Our website host and WordPress for the site itself
Each of these operates under its own privacy policy. We pass them only as much as the service needs to function.
How We Protect Your Information
This website runs over an encrypted SSL connection, so anything you submit through a form travels securely.
Access to inquiries and purchase records is limited to the owners, Ed and Lisa. No outside staff, contractors, or marketing agencies have access to your personal details. Paper records are kept securely at the shop.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise. What we can promise is that we hold very little, and we guard what we hold.
When We Share Information
We share your information only in these situations:
- With the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed to run the site or confirm a booking
- When the law requires it, such as a lawful request from the police or a regulator, or where a purchase record must be made available
- If the business is ever sold or transferred, in which case records would pass to the new owner under this same policy
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone. There is no circumstance in which we would.
How Long We Keep Things
- Website inquiries that do not lead to a visit are retained for about 24 months, then deleted.
- Purchase records are kept for as long as Massachusetts law requires us to keep them, and no longer.
- Analytics data is held on a rolling basis according to Google’s own retention settings and is not linked to you personally.
Your Privacy Rights
You are welcome to ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your inquiry from our records
Just email or call us, and we will handle it. There is no form to fill in and no fee.
One limit worth being upfront about: if you have sold us an item, we cannot delete the purchase record because we are legally required to keep it. Everything else, we can remove.
We do not send marketing emails, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. If we ever start, it will be opt-in, with a clear way out in every message.
Children’s Privacy
This website is meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. In the shop, we require a valid driver’s license to complete a purchase, so we do not buy from minors.
If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us, and we will delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Our site links out to places like our Google Business listing, review platforms, and social media pages. Once you follow one of those links, you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy policy, not ours. We suggest reading it if you plan to share anything there.
State Privacy Rights
We are a single-location shop on Cape Cod, and we do not market to California. Even so, our position is the same for everyone, wherever you live: we do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context advertising, and you may ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact details are below.
Updates to This Policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Anything significant will be reflected here rather than announced quietly. Worth a glance if you have not been by in a while.
